TAAT-III to Strengthen Climate-Resilient Farming in Ethiopia
The African Development Bank Group and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture have launched the third phase of the Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation program, with Ethiopia among its key focus countries. Since 2018, TAAT has helped boost productivity by introducing climate-resilient technologies and improved seed systems, contributing to yield increases of up to 69 percent in selected crops across participating nations. In Ethiopia, the program has supported efforts to strengthen farmers’ access to certified, high-performing seeds while promoting modern farming practices to improve resilience against climate shocks. Under TAAT-III, the focus will be on scaling these innovations faster, embedding them into national agricultural strategies, and expanding partnerships to enhance long-term food security and competitiveness.
