Kenya Highlights Strategic Coffee Reforms and Regional Leadership in East Africa
At the East African Coffee Markets 2025 Conference, Kenya is presenting itself as a forward-moving leader in the regional coffee industry. With government reforms in full motion, farmers now receive KSh 40 per kilo through the Coffee Cherry Fund, over KSh 9 billion has been disbursed with full recovery, and affordable loans are making coffee production more sustainable. The government is also investing KSh 500 million to produce 20 million high-quality seedlings annually, deploying trained youth and field officers to support farmers, and digitising cooperatives to ensure transparency and faster payments. As coffee cultivation expands into regions such as Marsabit, Narok and the North Rift, Kenya is entering the conference as a key player ready to shape the future of East African coffee.
